one year gone

One year gone

On the one year anniversary of my mother’s death, I wanted to find a way to remember my mother and to bring the best of her forward in my new family. The only thing that made any sense, was to bake.

So I pulled out a baking pan and whipped up a batch of peanut butter cookies with the kids – who delighted in smashing them before they made it to the sheet.

It was in the months that followed that I got the inspiration for this blog and a new family cookbook. I sat down over the Christmas holidays in 2019 and powered through Grandma Donna’s cookbooks, typing them up and making them plant-based as I went. Since then, I have made several of the recipes and will start posting them with earnest as I find the time.
