These are like little pieces of chocolatey pecan pie that would be great for a bake sale or for gifting.

Crust Ingredients
- 1 cup flour
- 3 tbsp granulated sugar
- 1/3 cup Earth Balance, softened
Filling Ingredients
- 3 squares (3 oz) semi-sweet chocolate
- 3/4 cup corn syrup
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1 cup chopped pecans
Yield: 18-24 bars
Preheat oven to 350o
Combine crust ingredients. Beat on medium speed until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Press firmly and evenly into 9” square pan. Bake for 15 minutes.
While the crust bakes, heat chocolate and corn syrup in a saucepan over low heat, stirring until smoothly melted. Remove from heat. Stir in sugar, eggs and vanilla until blended. Stir in pecans. Pour filling over the hot crust, spreading evenly. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until filling is firm around edges and slightly soft in the centre. Cool pan completely on rack.
Cut into bars and serve.
