This is basically just an apple crumble with a greater crumble-to-apple ratio.

Base and Crumble Ingredients
- 1 3/4 cups rolled oats
- 1 1/2 cups flour
- 3/4 cup Earth Balance, melted
- 1/4 tsp baking soda
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 tsp salt
Filling Ingredients
- 5 apples, peeled and sliced
- 2 tbsp Earth Balance, melted
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- Cinnamon to taste
Yield: approx. 10-12 squares
Cut the apples.
Preheat oven to 350o.
In a large bowl, combine the base and crumble ingredients. Mix until it is crumble-like. Pat 1/3 of crumb mixture in a greased 9” square pan. In a separate bowl combine the filling ingredients. Spread apple mixture over base. Pat remaining crumbs on top. Bake for 1 hour. Let cool to serve as a “bar”. Best when served with whipped or ice cream.
